Heart of Midlothian will be without record signing Eduardo Ageu for Saturday's visit to Rangers. The Brazilian midfielder has picked up a hamstring problem.

What happened to Ageu?

Ageu made his debut as a second-half substitute at Livingston following a seven-figure transfer from Portuguese club Santa Clara late last month.

Head coach Derek McInnes said of Ageu: "He won't be part of anything for the next couple of games."

Impact on the team

The absence of Ageu and defender Frankie Kent, who twisted his knee, will be felt by Heart of Midlothian.

Looking ahead to the Edinburgh derby

Heart of Midlothian faces Hibernian at Tynecastle on 4 October, and McInnes is hopeful Ageu will be back in time.

McInnes is excited about the prospect of having new German goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow in his squad.

Confidence ahead of Rangers clash

Heart of Midlothian travel to Glasgow level on points with Premiership leaders Celtic.

McInnes said: "I'm confident. The players have got to feel confident. I expect us to be really competitive.
