Heart of Midlothian host Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland in a final pre-season friendly this week, their last match before the Premiership resumes with a trip to league leaders Celtic.
Squad rotation expected
The friendly offers a final chance for players to press their case for selection ahead of the Celtic match. Heart of Midlothian are in strong form, having won three of their last five league games, including a 5-0 demolition of St Mirren earlier this month where J. McPake, the team's top scorer with three goals this season, was on target.
Building on momentum
The match against Nordsjaelland serves as a key bridge between the recent international break and the return to competitive action. Heart of Midlothian' recent results show a team capable of scoring freely, having netted 19 goals in the league so far. The full squad list and current injury status can be checked on our squad and injuries pages.
Heart of Midlothian then travel to face Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday, 18 October, in a match that will test their early-season credentials against the side five points above them at the summit.
